$75.00 per user/month

 + Optional Payroll ($20.00 per employee/month)

Accounting that moves as fast as your firm does.

Financials — Set up your chart of accounts or export easily from Xero - including historical transactions.

Tax — GST is handled at the line level — GST on Income, GST on Expenses, GST-free, Tax-exempt, No Tax — with tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive treatment at the invoice level and all with law firm disbursement and cost recovery billing in mind.

Workflows — Every invoice posts straight to the GL. Every payment reconciles against the statement. Every report regenerates the moment the underlying numbers change.

Payroll — LAPM sets the standard for payroll — built as automation, not administration - payday super, awards, STP, and pay runs handled in one system – with no spreadsheets, calculators, or manual patchwork.

Breeze through every pay run in no time with an Australian payroll software with sophisticated software to handle complex calculations.

We’re completely up to date with STP (Phase 2) requirements so you never have to worry about being at risk. We’ll send the appropriate information to the ATO and automate the process all the way from timesheet/leave requests to payday.

The twelve things that matter most

  1. Live GL balances. Post a journal, the account balance changes in the same request — same transaction, same millisecond.
  2. Per-line GST. GST on Income, GST on Expenses, GST-free, Tax-exempt, No Tax — applied at the line level, tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive at the invoice level. GST Clearing Account auto-tracked from every posting.
  3. Immutable finalised invoices. Draft → Finalised, and finalised means finalised. No silent back-door edits. If something needs to change, you re-draft.
  4. Draft → Post → Void manual journals. Nothing posts unreviewed. Voiding creates a reversal, not a deletion. The audit trail is never broken.
  5. Hard balance enforcement on every journal. Debits must equal credits. Unbalanced entries never get saved — they can't.
  6. CSV bank-statement import with smart matching. Auto-detects date, description, debit, credit. Duplicate-import protection. One-click rollback of an entire import.
  7. Three-way bank reconciliation. Statement balance vs. journal balance vs. GL account balance — reconciled to the cent, with variance drill-down.
  8. Four core financial reports. P&L, Balance Sheet, Activity Statement, Bank Reconciliation — date-range filtered, drill-down to source, PDF export.
  9. Live dashboard. Cash position, outstanding-invoice aging, reconciliation status — updates across every screen in the firm without a refresh.
  10. Shared Access. Invite a colleague as Guest (read-only) or Editor (read-write), revocable in one click. Server-enforced — the UI can't leak what the backend won't allow.
  11. Full audit log + soft-delete retention. Every create, update, delete recorded with user and timestamp. Records archived, never hard-deleted.
  12. Desktop delivered, cloud-backed. Electron for Windows and macOS.

What makes LAPM different?

Five things we built into the foundation, not bolted on later.

1. GL balances that match reality, right now. Post a journal and the GL account balance updates in the same database transaction. The number on your screen is the number in the database. Full stop.

2. A manual-journal lifecycle that respects the audit trail. Manual journals move through Draft → Posted → Voided. You cannot delete a posted journal — you can only void it, which leaves a reversal entry in the ledger. When the auditor asks "why is there a $4,200 movement on 3 June?" you have a traceable answer, not a gap.

3. Three-way bank reconciliation. Most tools reconcile the statement against the journal and call it done. LAPM Accounting reconciles three ways — statement balance, journal balance, and the GL account balance — so a variance tells you instantly whether you're looking at a missed import, an unposted journal, or a GL miscoding.

4. A dashboard driven by events, not polling. When someone on your team finalises an invoice, your outstanding-invoice total updates the moment they save. Same data, two screens, one truth — without anyone pressing refresh.

5. Shared Access as a first-class feature. Invite your accountant, your bookkeeper, or your business partner as Guest or Editor. Revoke with one click. Permissions are enforced at the server — a Guest physically cannot post a journal, regardless of what the UI lets them click.

And behind all of it:

Per-line GST, finalised-invoice immutability, debit/credit balance enforcement on every entry, full audit logging on every change, soft-delete retention so the record survives the archive, and a proper auth lifecycle so stale sessions don't hang around.

Centralised financial control, multi-user company access, GST-aware accounting workflows, reconciliation and reporting and production-grade scale and complexity.

And a payroll management system that manages the complex and critical operation:

  • Calculating wages, bonuses, and expenses through automation
  • Generating payroll reports and employee pay slips
  • Keeping the business up-to-date with rules and regulations
  • Managing global payroll
  • Monitoring employee time and attendance

LAPM Accounting doesn't try to be bigger than the competition. It just does the fundamentals properly.

Document and email generation that lives where the work lives.

Sign in from any browser, pick a template from the LAPM precedent library or upload one of your firm's own.

Every placeholder in the template maps to a question in a form — client name, matter reference, property address, beneficiary share.

Fill the form, click Generate, a finished .docx lands in your Downloads.

Or open a matter document in Word, click the Precedents button on the Home ribbon, and the task pane loads the same form right next to the document — change an answer, click Update, the document rewrites in place.

Open Outlook instead, hit the Precedents button on the Message ribbon while composing, and the same engine populates the subject line and body of your email.

The twelve things that matter most

  1. Word-native task pane. The add-in loads in Word for Windows, Mac, and the Web. No macros. No template files to distribute. Update a precedent, every task pane picks it up on the next load.
  2. Outlook-native task pane. Same precedent engine, applied to email. Pick a template from the Message ribbon, answer the questions, subject and body populate. Letters of demand, settlement confirmations, status updates, retainer intros, engagement emails — drafted in seconds, not minutes. Works in Outlook for Windows, Mac, and the Web.
  3. Matter workflows. Bundles of precedents that fire from one form. New conveyancing matter, probate opening, litigation setup, will brief — answer client and matter details once, every document and email in the bundle is generated, versioned, and filed. Firm-private workflows alongside LAPM catalogue workflows.
  4. Subscription precedent library. LAPM maintains a growing Australian and New Zealand catalogue — wills, court forms, retainer letters, leases, checklists, email precedents, workflow bundles — drafted and maintained by legal document specialists.
  5. Firm-private templates and workflows. Build your own alongside the LAPM catalogue. Other firms cannot see them, list them, or access them. Isolation enforced at the server.
  6. Automatic template versioning. Every update creates a new version. Generated documents and emails pin to the version that produced them — re-render next year, get the same output, character for character.
  7. Smart forms built from placeholders. Insert a field into a template, the form question is created automatically. The form always matches the template.
  8. Platform-wide field library. Reusable data points (client first name, property address, settlement date) shared across every template, email and workflow. AU and NZ legal fields built in; your firm can add its own.
  9. Conditional clauses and repeating sections. Show a paragraph only when it applies. Repeat a block for every beneficiary, child, exhibit, or property — the form grows and shrinks with the data. Works in documents and emails alike.
  10. Auto-calculated values. Age from date of birth. Settlement date from contract plus 42 days. Full name from title + first + last. Computed at render time, every time.
  11. Document and email audit trail. Every generated output is saved with its answer set, organised by client matter. Open a matter two years later, see exactly what inputs produced the file or the email.
  12. Upcoming PMS integrations. Client and matter data flows from your PMS into the form. No re-keying, no copy-paste, and when you switch systems your templates and workflows stay put.

Plus role-based access (firm administrator, firm lawyer, firm paralegal — permissions enforced at the server) and the whole platform available in browser, Word desktop, Word Web, Outlook desktop or Outlook Web — same data, same precedents, same workflows, pick up where you left off.

What makes LAPM different?

Five things built into the foundation.

1. Automation that lives inside Word and Outlook. The task panes are where the work happens — next to the document, next to the email, not in a separate tab, not behind a login on another screen. Fill the form, click Update, the output rewrites in place. Close the app, open it later, the form is still there.

2. A subscription precedent library — and workflows — maintained by specialists. LAPM's team works with legal document automation every day across Australian and New Zealand firms. The catalogue covers document precedents, email precedents, and matter workflows that glue them together. When legislation changes, the catalogue updates and every subscriber's next render picks up the new version. You're not paying a software vendor to maintain templates — you're sharing a specialist team's working knowledge.

3. Your precedents stay portable. LAPM Precedents lives alongside your practice management system, not inside it. Switch PMS providers tomorrow and your precedent library, your firm's templates, your matter workflows, your drafting automation — none of it moves, none of it rebuilds. The PMS integration layer updates; the precedent bank does not.

4. Version-pinned documents and emails. Every generated document and email records the template version that produced it. Re-render the same output next year and get the same bytes — character for character — even if the template has evolved. The audit trail the client, the court, or your insurer will eventually ask for.

5. Firm isolation, by design. Your firm's templates and workflows are scoped to your firm. Other firms cannot see them, list them, or access them. A firm user cannot reach another firm's data regardless of what the interface lets them try.

LAPM Precedents doesn't try to be bigger than the competition. It just puts the automation where the work lives — and keeps your precedent bank portable.
